Hi,
I'm having a little trouble in V3.0.0- Manager with MCS reports after year-end roll. The MCS report won't display - just gives an error "The parameter is incorrect".
I've reproduced in a "refreshed" Sample Fund attached.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Refresh the sample fund
2. Process a year-end roll following all the defaults (Yes, Next, Yes, Next etc)
3. Select Reporting Tool | Year-End Reports | John Smith MCS -> View Report.
4. You will get a Crystal Reports error [Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer] [i] The parameter is incorrect. [OK]:
Same thing happens for Sally Smith MCS. MCS can be viewed OK from Members tab but I think this is a different version of the report?
I've emailed a copy of the Sample Fund to info@mysf.com.au
Over to you.
Cheers,
Tony Gilbert

Hi,
We have been able to reproduce this problem and will fix it as soon as possible.
The MCS available from the Year End and those accessible under the Financial Reports tab of the Report Tool screen do contain the same information, but they are displayed in different formats. One shows the information on a screen, the other shows it in a printable report.

Hi,
An update on this error report:
We have received a couple of error reports and requests for improvements that were quite urgent. Therefore we are planning to release another update to the MySF Manager software before the end of this week (22/06/07).
The new update, version 3.1.0 will include
- new report for incomplete dividends and distributions, under Financial tab on Report Tool
- updated revaluations mechanism based on feedback
- error fix for investment strategy attachment
- error fix for previous year MCS report (as reported in your message) printing
Regards,
MySF

Many thanks!
My purpose in trying to see this report was to confirm what I believe might be a different um, "feature", which I haven't been able to provide evidence for as yet.
You'll need to confirm, but I think that the Year End Wizard is ignoring the % Overridden Calculation, and instead using the % Calculated Allocation (although I know this worked fine in 2.10).
That is, one is given an opportunity to override Allocations during the EYP, but when a summary is later displayed back (in one of the confirm EYP windows) the allocation percentages that are displayed are the Calculated ones, not the Overriden ones.
I've seen this twice - once in my fund, once in the sample that I sent. (I also think the "Refresh Sample Fund" feature might be failing because I've now discovered there are no contributions in the current Sample Fund!)
Given your imminent update, I wanted to mention this before I can fully document it as more complete documentation may me a few more days to find the time!
Cheers,
Tony

Hi,
This has just been tested by recording a single contribution for each member, but assigning 100% of the profit to 'Sally Smith' using the override fields. The result was all of the profits of the fund for the past year were allocated to her, rather than split according to the formula. Therefore the override appears to be working ok. However, if you do find any problems with this going forward, please report it and we will investigate asap.
With regards to the sample fund used by the system, this was updated as part of update 3.0.0. The old sample fund was in the 03-04 financial year and the new one is in the current (06-07) financial year. One of the other differences between the old and the new sample funds is that the new fund contains less data.
Regards,
MySF

Hi,
Thanks as always for the prompt and detailed response. I did find some time today to look further at this and I apologise for not explaining clearly enough.
I'm starting a separate post for the "Sample Fund Fails to refresh" problem which I can easily reproduce.
I've tried again to reproduce the problem around the incorrect allocations and I find that I am unable to. It is now working as we both expect. Sorry for wasting your time on that one.
Regards,
Tony
