The date when entered has to be precise with 2 numbers per section. Suggest you do away with the boxes and allow direct entryi.e.
2.3.
or 2/3
Meaning 2nd March and the year automatically picked up or if year is to be enterd 04 would suffice(as it is now)

Regarding date entry, you can enter one number then "tab" to the next box; for example, you could enter "1" then "3" then "4" and this would be automatically filled in as: 01/03/2004. This makes date entry faster and less-clumsy then other alternatives.
We'll look into your suggestion though and see how it fits into the overall usability of the program.

| Sorry I knew that it was probably more about using the tab key. Only because I am used to another program and continually forget the tab key.
