A few thoughts.
Any update on functionality for options? Have you also looked at instalment warrants - certainly complex but a tool to manage the interest deduction etc. would be brilliant.
I have yet to do EOY for 2004 but the thought of having to do journals for warrant interest deductions, adjusting costs bases for option components etc. is scaring me. A likely future forum question in fact!
If you covered these 2 assets then you would just about have the field covered in terms of helping out with the complex pieces.
You have probably seen that the warrant issuers have calculation / tax tools that make it easier; MySF has the opportuntiy to integrate this. An improved front end - e.g. prompt for "loan" amounts, interest deductions and time periods or better still import based on ASX code (posssible or not? probably not) - would make it easier to enter rather than the journal entry approach.
As a general idea, a front end to avoid the need to do journals directly or make them simpler would be a major step forward. A lot of questions you field get down to "what are the right drs and crs?" If you can prompt for the accounts to adjust and take care of the drs and crs in the background, it would make it much simpler for the non-accountants (leave in the ability to directly alter accounts as well for the techos or particularly messy adjustments).

Thanks for the note. We are working on the options and also looking at instalment warrants however it won't be a release this calendar year. The area is a complex one and we want to make sure it is right.
If you are interested (and anyone else who is interested please post) we would be happy to bring you into the development review and share the design with you so that you can have an input prior to release. This would build a better product for you and for us.
We do intend to automate the Debits and Credits as much as possible so that people dont have to struggle with the accounting. We will look at the front end idea.
Anyone who would like an input into this are please post a reply and we will include you in the design discussion
