hi
Re Adding financial assets.
On generating the share purchase transaction I get the following error message.
"object reference not set to an instance of an object"
"at Utilities.MakeAssetAccounts(Asset ObjAsset, String StrAssetClassNumber"
"At FRMManageFinancialAssets.SaveCurrent()"
The transaction does not appear in transaction reporter and the sub account does not appear in the GL accounts
As there is no sub account I can't post a journal to the asset manually.
The financial asset does however appear in Manage Financial Assets and Financial Asset Editor.
I then tried to use housekeeping utilities remove asset to delete the asset as there was no transactions on record. On attempting this I got
"MySF has encountered an error"
"This may have affected some data and the program should be restarted"
"Exit MySF now?"
On exiting and returning the asset has not been deleted.
On reentering housekeeping financial asset editor I tried to generate the transaction again by selecting the bank account and selecting generate transaction GJ
I got the following error message
"object reference not set to an instance of an object"
"at FRMEditFiancialAsset.LnkUpdate_LinkClicked(Object Sender, Event Args e)"
selecting CP instead of GJ made no difference either.
This is my second financial year using MySF. I had 2 similar occurences previously but I could successfully delete the asset and re enter it and the share transaction would generate successfullly second time around.
Any help would be appreciated, I've only 2 months to enter to finish the 2006 financial year but can't add financial assets so I'm stuck.
Thanks
Phil Dunbar
PS I have screen shots of all the error messages in excel, if you send me a response I'll attach and return them.

This sounds like an asset or a member was deleted and some references remain, which now point nowhere.
We would need to get a copy of the fund's file as an email attachment to find out the exact details of what has happened and try to fix it. If possible, please send us a copy of the file as an email attachment to info@mysf.com.au
The fund's file location is usually C:\<fund name>\<fund name>.mysf
Regards,
MySF
